Deionized water, often abbreviated as DI water or deionized H2O, is water that has had almost all of its mineral ions removed. These ions, which are electrically charged atoms, are what give water its hardness and can interfere with many processes. How is Deionized Water Made?

The process of deionization involves passing water through a bed of ion-exchange resins. These resins are typically made of synthetic polymers with charged functional groups. What are the Uses of Deionized Water?
